Publicburn.eth is a project that has been formed with one
sole purpose in mind; to reveal the power which we the people possess in Web3 and in doing so to inspire chosen few to utilize this power with love, light and intention.
In order to fulfill this purpose, we have begun burning
derogatory, racial & oppressive words out of the ENS ecosystem in what we
like to refer to as a live demonstration.
Below is the names that have already been burned. You can check the activity for the exact time of the transactions at PublicBurn.eth on Etherscan.io

Disclaimer You are contributing in order to prove how strong you believe that blockchains are speech and speech is a protected human right. This is an important political statement. Just like the creator had the right to mint these domains, the most current registrant has the right to burn them. You must have no expectation of profit from donating to this project. The set of people who have contributed to show their commitment to this political statement will be known for their efforts to clean up the ethers!
Donations will be used to further The Burn Project at the discretion of the team. Examples of what these funds may be used for: Domain registrations & secondary market purchases for live burn demonstrations, domain extensions, payment for services done on behalf of publicburn.eth, investments, charitable contributions to other likeminded projects, marketing etc. All contributions are welcome as this is a community effort!

You can burn ENS domains by sending your tokens to one of the burn addresses.
Using a common hot wallet app to burn ENS tokens.
1. Using OpenSea, find the ENS asset you wish to burn.
2. Select the domain and choose the "Send to" option
3. Enter the ENS tagged domain: PUBLICBURN.ETH
4. Click on the Send Button to begin the transfer
5. Once finished, you will see a confirmation that you successfully sent the ENS token to PublicBurn.eth
[Disclaimer: We are not suggesting in any way that you should burn your own tokens. These addresses are used by the community to burn problematic names that the community has determined to be problematic. This method of burning tokens is used by many projects and by people who can afford to "lose" money. There are many other ways to contribute to burning that doesn't require you to spend any money]
When tokens are sent to an unusable address it is removed from circulation, it is similar to harm reduction in the sense we are reducing the number of "foul" domains in the market. When items are sent to a burn wallet, they cannot be accessed by anyone and have no obtainable keys. Burning removes the ability for these domains to be used, making the tokens irrelevant.
[Discla imer: The Burn Project is not suggesting that people should throw away their hard-earned money directly into burns expecting to see the price go up. This is for the community and is not for financial gain.]
There are 4 null addresses that are currently being used to burn $ENS domains:
Using ENS tagging we are able to simplify the burn process.
